- VistaLoader and Paradox gone!

The day has come, it is over the happy Vista cracking era, and no it is not Microsoft it is a 3rd party security software.

Several user have reported that ZoneAlarm 7.1 did disable their Vista crack, the news are fresh and we can only speculate what is the reason for it. What we know is that Paradox and Vistaloader did not work anymore after installation of ZA.

ZoneAlram installs an unofficial Vista update during the installation, could that be the reason? Or is it just coincidence?

3 June 07 - Update: How to fix it!

dvdrw1024 Hi There.

I had the same problem. It seems that installing various software involving system drivers removes the OEM activation. Anti-virus and firewall applications are the primary offenders.

After re-installing Vista for many times I found out what is the problem….
It’s a Vista BUG :? !!!!!!! fixed by the following windows update:

“KB931573 Install this update to resolve an issue where you may be prompted to activate a pre-installed copy of Windows Vista. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.”

Many users of this forum warned not to use this update so I always left it out. It was a big mistake. If you update Vista with this update and then use the activation toolkit it won’t ever deactivate.

Hope I’ve helped

I wouldn’t use ZA even if they paid me to. This is only one more reason why this software is crap to begin with.

[…] Warning: ZoneAlarm 7.1 Reported to Kill Vista Cracks Not sure what incentive ZoneAlarm would have to remove Vista hacks, but some are claiming it is happening. (tags: Security Hack Software ) […]

I reckon its because it picks it up as a hack or something

As long as Vistaloader is concerned this is bullshit. I just installed ZoneAlarm 7.1 on Vista Ultimate x86 on VirtualPC and it remains activated as before. It boots using Vistaloader 2.1.2 (Vista activator 2.1.2.1.2).

  7. HAxMAx Says:

It’s not really Zone Alarm — it’s a bug in Windows Vista that is triggered by ZA (and other programs). Do a search for “KB931573″ and Microsoft says this:

    CAUSE
This problem may occur because a specific system setting is removed when a program runs with administrative credentials. The removal of this system setting may cause a BIOS validation check to fail. The BIOS validation check is part of the system activation process. Therefore, you may be prompted to activate Windows Vista, even though the system did not previously require activation. For example, this problem is known to occur when you use Intuit QuickBooks 2007. However, this problem may also infrequently occur when you install other programs or device drivers.

Note This problem does not occur because of an issue in the installed program or device driver. This problem is caused by a system problem in Windows Vista.

If you install KB931573 it supposedly fixes the problem

I don’t know what all you people are complaining about. It’s a freken hacked version of Vista and yes, you will have problems for as long as you run an illegal copy of Vista…. Want problem free software? Get a legit copy and Pay for it, even though MS can’t ever fix their mess in the first place.

Now if MS made the operating software affordable around 50 bucks, then we all will see less pirating of such software.

    On another note:

As for corporate losing their data due to theft from people hacking into their systems, once again, what operating software are they using? Hmmmm is it something created by MS? People should not sue the corporate, people should sue MS for making, publishing and releasing faulty operating systems that can be easily hacked.

Any questions? Ask MS, they have the answer to everything….. NOT!

As for ZA, it works for a cirtain extent, just wish they fix the “True Vector” problem or eliminate it completly because it dont do anything for me except crashing the firewall to a complete halt.
