The following has been created by Keznews member Nightthief to make it easier for people to use the Vista BootManager crack. It is the first installer based on VistaBoot!
Quick Overview:
* It will install the bootmgr you choose (Acer, Asus, Dell etc)
* It will make a backup of your old bootmgr file.
* It will install the matching OEM certificate
* It will install the matching Vista Key
To Install:
… Extract the RAR to a folder on your computer.
… Double Click (if UAC is turned off) or Right-click and select Run as Administrator (if UAC is turned on) on Install.cmd
… Follow the prompts.
To Uninstall:
… Extract the RAR to a folder on your computer.
… Double Click (if UAC is turned off) or Right-click and select Run as Administrator (if UAC is turned on) on Uninstall.cmd
Before Anyone Asks:
1. This is not based on either VistaLoader or Paradox. It is based on the Vista boootMgr crack by GKend.
2. This crack works with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Vista,
3. This crack does not reuire that you have an OEM machine, but instead makes whatever computer you have appear as if it were an OEM Machine.
4. Everything needed for this crack is included in the crack - except, of course, for a computer and Windows Vista. Everything means everything - SLIC emulator, Licensing certificates, and serial keys.
5. While this crack does not come with a double-your-money-back guarantee, it should work with most motherboards. If you want to know if it works with your motherboard, don’t ask - just try it.
6. If, for any reason, this crack does not work properly, you can recover your system by using the Uninstall.cmd from this archive from the Recovery Console or directly from the desktop, by using the Vista DVD’s Repair Boot Problems functon, or by simply deleting the modified bootmgr file and renaming the bootmgr bak file on your boot drive to just bootmgr (no extension). In order to do these, you may need your Vista Installation DVD to boot to a recovery environment. So, make sure you have your disc available before using this crack.
7. Before installing this crack, you must uninstall any other cracks which you have tried in the past or are using. The best and easiest way to do this is to use VOATK Tools (available in the member’s download section).
8. I cannot confirm that all the certificates within this crack are valid. If you use this crack and find it does not activate, please use Everest or ACPI Scope to verify whether or not you have a SLIC table installed. If you do have the SLIC Table you specified but the system still does not register, please post a resonse to let us know which SLIC/Certificate you had specified.
9. This crack installer will be updated over time to reflect any corrections of or additions to certificates/SLICs, serials, and updates to the main cracking algorithym.

So, the ultimate questions is : Which is the currently best Vista Activation Hack-:Vista BootMgr Installer or Vista OEM Activation Tool Kit 1.5(VOATK) ?

the best one is the one you are happy with
both have pro and cons,
VistaBoot is the most superior hack of all (VistaLoder and Paradox), because it is not a driver like Paradox and it is not a bootmanager like Vistaloader.
However at this point, VistaBoot won’t work an all systems, which VistaLoader does.
VistaBoot is still in development by the Gekend, and will support more and more systems with each new edition.
Theoretically you can create a Vista crack with vistaboot, that can not be detected by MS at all,….. so wait and see

This crack worked for me (1.03).
I suggest hiding this crack for now and release it after sp1 comes out. While this crack is not so popular, ms might not disable it.

I have an Acer 5100 notebook. I tried paradox crack before and my mother board died; i had to change the mother board.
Now i tried this one in a great excitement several times but the Notebook did not boot again; giving the blue screen error. Isn’t there a way to crack vista without giving a harm to my motherboard? Please help me

At first it worked for me x64 ultimate, after several reboots it worked, then finally after sleeping and turning on the computer BAM, no more, the bootmgr did’nt emulate the SLIC anymore, when I check everest the SLIC thing disappeared and got into XSDT Extended System Desc. Table
no more original vista
using vista loader now, but I don’t like it…. Sob

I got this to work perfectly fine, installed the OEM certificate and Vista liscense, and now I think I might be screwed.
The first time I rebooted after installing the bootmgr all I see is:
invalid boot.ini
booting from C:\WINDOWS
Then it just hangs there forever. I can’t do anything with it now (no safe mode or anything). I don’t have a Vista DVD, so I think the only thing I can do is a full recovery back to XP (which I do have a disk for luckily) and start over.
Any idea what I effed up? Was I supposed to run Uninstall.cmd after installing the OEM stuff? I’m retarded…

I tried this on an iMac running Boot Camp, but all I got was a white blinking cursor on a black scree if I chose to boot in Vista instead of Mac OS X. I simply renamed the bootmgr file from the backup using Mac OS X and accessing the Windows partition using the read/write Paragon NTFS driver. I’ve had to resort to the Vista Loader 2.1.2 hack, but that presents unsightly messages that my HFS partition or rather the GPT-partitioned disk itself is damaged (three messages in total). I’d like to try VistaBoot again, but I’d like to know if someone has successfully tried this method on an Intel Mac running Boot Camp (I’m not interested in virtualized environments such as VMware Fusion or Parallels).
Thanks!
