The political and social censorship in the Internet increases in accordance with an international study. Now the rank list of the most repressive countries was placed in the net.

Poeple in Asia, the Near East and North Africa blocked the entrance to political, cultural or religious information according to English researchers .

The research project of experts of the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard and Toronto is to become the prelude for an annual investigation of the OpenNet in such a way specified initiative. The scientists constituted six states, which censored particularly intensively political information: Burma, China, Iran, Syria, Tunisia and Viet Nam.

Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, Tunisia, the united Arab emirates and Yemen particularly filtered within the social range numerous information. While South Korea steered the information flow actively only with a topic, (with North Korea), stand with other countries such as Iran, China and Saudi Arabia a whole set of topics on the index.

“The investigation shows that the Internet censorship increases world-wide”, said John Palfrey, acting director of the Berkmann of center for Internet and society, on Friday during the presentation of the study in London.

Besides often not only individual web pages were repealed set closed, but whole applications such as YouTube. However give it also some states, which did not censor against wide-spread acceptance, as for instance to Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, Russia and Malaysia

    Malaysia is ok, you can get whatever you want and it is a muslim country. Thailand is freaking censored, and I could feel it in Singapore too.
